Galentine’s Dinner in the Docklands
“What is this Galentine’s of which you speak?” we may (or may not!) hear you cry. Let us explain as we love the Galentine’s concept.
Galentine's Day is now a global holiday, typically marked on 13th February, that celebrates women's friendship. Events are typically all-female occasions of mutual empowerment - according to Wikipedia!
The day originated within the US sitcom ‘Parks and Recreation’ in an episode written by Aisha Muharrar. All hail Aisha! The sitcom's main character Leslie starts the tradition. Galentine’s has now jumped from fiction into real life and continues to grow in popularity - not that an excuse is needed for groups to come together for dinner to share stories, advice, and good wishes.
If you plan to join us for Galentine’s Day - and you will be warmly welcomed if you do - remember how The Sunday Telegraph framed Galentine’s Day:
“Galentine's Day was born out of rebel spirit, intended as a rebuff to the conventions of Valentine's Day. It's about doing exactly what you want to do, and feeling thankful for having friends that let you do it.”
We love this concept and will honour the arrangement by sharing a free glass of prosecco per person for each table booked in advance when you quote Galentine’s Day. Yes, a free glass of prosecco for each person dining with a group of friends on Galentine’s Day on 13th February.
